First I want to take this time and thank FYR Denver for the opportunity they have given me to join their program and be a part of their journey and helping me with mine. I was born in Denver Colorado in 2000. I didn’t have much, my family and I lived in a two bedroom house and for the longest time my closet was outside and my room was the living room. We moved back and forth from my grandma’s to the two bedroom house.

At the age of 11 I started getting involved in things I shouldn’t have. Drugs slowly started to consume me and soon “weed” wasn’t enough so I moved to stronger drugs. By 13 I was involved with certain people, but I wish not to expand on that topic. For 2 years I was in and out of the house and during that time I was homeless for 1 month.

I had tried to live with my real father who I never really knew. I found out I had another brother and sister from my father and he did the same to them as he did to me and my sister. He ran the first second he got. I am currently 17 now and I am still trying to figure what I’m doing with my life but I am grateful that I have FYR Denver to help me figure out what I’m going to do.
